Please take some time to reflect on our verse for this year, 2024:
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom; and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs to God.
Colossians: 3.16
Let it comfort and guide you in the days ahead.
Perry Rise Baptist Church Mission Statement and Vision
Mission Statement
Perry Rise Baptist Church seeks to be a place where Christ can be found and taken into the community.
Vision
‘Without vision the people perish.’ (Proverbs 29.18)
Our vision provides a specific and time limited outworking of the purposes in our mission statement. It also provides a tool for evaluating our progress on the journey. The vision of Perry Rise is rooted in the life and ministry of Jesus worked out in our context and should shape all we do within the church. We also have a church constitution which outlines how we work.
To achieve our mission we need to create a community of:
Belonging
There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.’ (Galatians 3:28)
We seek to be a welcoming and caring church community where all people are included and encouraged to feel ownership of everything we do.
Growing
‘Just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.’ (Colossians 2:8)
We seek to encourage wholehearted commitment to living relationships with Jesus through prayer, engagement with the Bible and the infilling of the Holy Spirit.
Serving
‘For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works.’ (Ephesians 2:10)
We seek to be a community where the gifts and abilities given to all by the Holy Spirit are recognised and used.
Telling
‘Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Ho/y Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you’. (Matthew 28:19-20)
We seek to enable everyone everywhere to proclaim the Good News of Jesus in word and action.
